About Goodman Painters and Decorators
A Chicago painting and remodeling company that has been working on the same streets since 2012, with the owner still on site.
Quality work. Professional people. Beautiful results.
Goodman Painters and Decorators has been painting and remodeling Chicago properties since 2012. We started the way most trade businesses do, one job at a time, and we have grown almost entirely on repeat customers and word of mouth rather than advertising.
We are deliberately not a large operation. The owner is on site, not in an office, which is why our reviews tend to name a person rather than a company. If something is not right you talk to the person responsible for fixing it, on the same day.
The work itself spans interior and exterior painting, cabinet refinishing, drywall, tiling, flooring and full bathroom and kitchen remodels, for homeowners, landlords and commercial clients across the city and the northern suburbs.
What we hold ourselves to
Quality
Preparation is most of the job. We fill, sand, caulk and prime properly, because that is what decides whether a finish still looks right in five years.
Professionalism
Turning up when we said, protecting the property daily, and leaving the site clean at the end of every shift.
Communication
You get an itemized written estimate before anything starts, and if we find something unexpected we show you and price it before continuing.
Respect For Your Property
Floors, furniture and fittings protected as standard. It is your home, and we work in it as though someone lives there, because they do.
The things you can actually check
Every claim on this page is one you can verify before you hire us.
Since 2012
Working on Chicago property since 2012.
5.0 from 80+ Google reviews

Licensed & insured
Documentation available on request before work starts.
5-year workmanship warranty
We come back and put right anything that fails.
Tradespeople, not subcontracted strangers
The people who show up are the people who do this every day. We do not assemble a different crew for every job from whoever is available that week, which is the single biggest reason finish quality varies between contractors.
Where a job needs a licensed plumber or electrician we bring in trades we have worked with for years and we coordinate them ourselves, so you are still dealing with one point of contact rather than chasing three diaries.
